This was my 1st time being coached for triathlon and the main aim for me and the group was to improve and try to be more competitive in the national series. I had meet Gavin in Spain April 2008 as I was sent over by Triathlon Ireland to treat him (ed - physcially and metally!)

I am coming to the end of my first week of winter training . . .  it’s been so stressful I think I need a holiday ! On Sunday afternoon I am heading to Monte Gordo in Portugal

The wind is up, the temperature is dropping, it’s dark when I get up, winter training has begun. It started on Monday with a 5km swim, a 2 hour bike and a 12k run - everything was slow and aerobic but I was a broken man when I awoke this morning, everything was sore - and [...]

I have fond memories of my trip to Kenmare a few years ago - a great race at the Lost Sheep, amazing scenery, a beautiful town, some seal watching, craic was good and I had the best ‘fish n chips’ in all the land, twice.

 10 years ago I drove into to Stirling with my Dad attempting to pronounce the road signs in a bad Scottish accent. I wasn’t laughing. I knew no one. I was totally petrified.
During those 10 years there were good times, bad times and great times.

In the next few days ill be keenly watching the ITU Grand Final in the Gold Coast. Along with Will ill be cheering for team ireland and Emma in the womens elite U-23- and last but not least my main man McNamee who goes in the U-23’s for Britain.

I said to him over lunch - “it’s like having an ash tray on a motorbike, you know, a chocolate tea pot, tits on a bull”
To which he replied - “here Bhoy c’mere to me, I dunno loyke, at the end of the day I have some videos on dare”

I’m back in Stirling after some time at home in Enniskillen and once again someone has stolen all the spoons - plus it took me over an hour to find my favourite bowl.
