Cabra Castle
January 26th, 2010 by Gavin
For some reason I always wanted to live in a Castle, drink goblets of wine, eat meat at the head table with my hands etc etc .
Last weekend I did just that in Cabra Castle, County Cavan (although I was made use a knife and fork). My brother Gareth got married to a Princess and along with Mark I was ‘ best man’.
I had a great weekend. I cannot remember the last time all of my family were together outside of Enniskillen (admitedly I was normally the absentee) so it was a weekend to cherish.
On Sunday morning I went and got lost in a local forest to rid my system of some of the badness from the night before. As I returned to Cabra Castle I was met by my new friend ‘Oscar’ a 1 yr old Irish Wolf Hound - after the initial shock of seeing him bound towards me he happily ran by my side for nearly an hour . . . it’s the simple things that make simple Gavin happy !
I left Dublin yesterday with a tinge of sadness and arrived in South Africa this afternoon - still thinking about the wedding, remembering and replaying parts of the weekend in my mind - memories that will last a life time
