Irish Runner Magazine
April 19th, 2009 by Gavin

It is his tri-suit that I want and her that I dream of !? In fact they both deserve a “yeeeooooo” shout and a shake of the fist. Anyway, moving swiftly along – you should go out and buy Irish Runner Magazine this month. Why ?
The edition has a Triathlon feature (written by some gob shite) which includes an interview with Irish Triathlete Aileen Morrison. It is in stores from April 21st – which my sources tell me is Tuesday. I apologise to those of you who do not live in Ireland as I think you can only get it in Irish stores.
However, if you get that mid week flight from Eastern Europe to Dublin (or know someone who does ?) then you could possibly pick up a copy along with your Government Benefits, hop back on the plane and be Home by tea time ….. Bob’s your Uncle, Fanny’s your Aunt.
In other news – I was forced into buying some spoons yesterday after a solid days training – A 4.5k swim, 3hr ride and 20km run. My Mum rang to say it was a beautiful day in Ireland – ‘good biking weather’ she said.
What temperature was it ? I asked
“it must be 15 degrees “ she replied . . . .
(there was a silence as my mind wandered back to me sitting in front of the fan in Stellenbosch watching ‘Gavin and Stacey’ on DVD, downing litres of water. Ernie was rushing about looking for his keys; Bobby was calling the house phone and haging up; I was meeting Nikola and Fraser in 30mins for a magical muffin)
“on yer bike” I said.
I enjoyed yesterdays training, the sun is out (although 15 degrees) and im looking forward to another 3hrs in the saddle. It is nice to be back on my old routes and eating from my Dog bowl with a clean spoon.
