Those Goats are greedy buggers too - I can’t leave my carrots, celery and hummus down for fear they take off their bells and sneak in when I am asleep.

At the moment I have cut out a lot of the steady stuff and I am ‘sleep loading’ in preparation for heading to Washington DC in the morning

I think I once heard Olympic Champ Simon Whitfield could sleep standing up – and at the other end of the spectrum legend has it that Conrad Stoltz never sleeps . .  he just waits !?

Sleeping is something I need more of and I am working on it ! Sometimes life is tough.

So with less time rushing to pack in some miles and more time in my bed I am feeling fresher. I felt the difference in the pool this morning - 3 weeks ago in the same 4 x 400m session I descended down to 4.32 and this morning I went 4.25, 28, 27, 23.

As I board the plane in the morning it will not be my first time heading towards an American Airport but for some reason it will be the first time I step out of the Airport and onto American soil (that was a round about way of saying I have never been to America, how exciting).

I will join the next round of the ITU Super World Cup Series in Washington DC on Sunday
