Kilrush Tri3 Triathlon Series

It is a great start to a day when you hand the cashier a 20 euro note for a bottle of Lucozade, a pair of scissors, some elastic bands and a muffin for the road and he hands you back a 20 euro note and some change for the toll road
I have a theory that the further you get away from Dublin the cheaper the coffee and roads become. I was in Kilrush on Saturday afternoon, enjoying the sun, catching up with friends and enjoying a coffee in Crottys pub before race start at 4pm (having cursed the road from Ennis an hour earlier).
The race was the final of the the Tri3 series and it was a very enjoyable afternoon. A beautiful swim, challenging bike and rolling run course. It is great when a Triathlon is staged in a smaller town and it takes over ! I guess it is even better when that town is an Irish Town
The locals christened Noble “the Blonde Bombshell” and reportedly later on that evening ‘pot sac’
TOO MUCH MAGNETTI PASTA !!!!!!

Gordon Thomson once again took some great photos
