“It is perfect here for training” she said (lovethatsh1t)

It is not everyday an African comes to the Shire in search of warmer weather! And not just any old African for that matter

Africa’s first ever medalist at an ITU Triathlon World Championship and Beijing Olympian, Mari Rabie, was in town.

Although due to University exams she had not been on her new Specialized Tarmac for a few weeks, Fraser and I did what any gentlemen would do

take her up the Dukes ……..

Dukes Pass that is. A hilly 3hr loop in the Shire. Naturally we stopped at the Village Store for flap jacks and juice.

I am easing down before this weekends trip to Holten for the European Triathlon Championships. It has been a tough enough time since I returned from Washington as I have struggled to sleep but my training has gone to plan and I am looking forward to it.

Europeans marks the beginning of a busy time for me – I will then be in Athlone for Triathlone before heading to Switzerland for an Altitude Camp with the Irish team in preparation for the London and Yokohama rounds of the Super World Cup Series.

Watching some Full Metal Jacket is getting me psyched for the first turn bouy
