Mclaren F1 HQ

This is the Mclaren Formula 1 Teams lair. There are things going on in there that even the News of the World do not know about. As I reported on my Twitter, lots of men doing lots of secret stuff.

Shortly after returning from Canada we entered the lair to film a video for Vodafone Ireland / Triathlon Ireland with  F1 driver Jenson Button. (Whilst in Edmonton I told Bryan  Keane my secret – my fear of trampolines to – he promised not  to tell anyone)

Led by Vodafone Ireland’s Anne O’Leary and Gerry Nixon it was a short but exciting ‘step into a different world’. The Mclaren HQ employs around 1800 people all of whom are working towards putting 2 men into 2 cars and getting them around a race track as fast as possible.

In terms of sponsorship, professionalism, team logistics, pubic relations, organisation and even celebrity , it was a real experience.

We spent the day filming some swimming, cycling and running … and of course Mr Button – a keen triathlete himself.

We had the use of some special props ! The Mclaren f1 car and the Mclaren Specialized Venge

We were also a little weary at the the end of the day ! No sleep for over 48hrs does that to a man
