The Truth: End of Season Reports Part 6

As I sat on the bridge watching Triathlone this year I learnt something. I realised what could be done to get the other members of ‘the pack’ to run quicker off the bike.

They all needed to develop a run cadence like Chris Upton . . . .

 bang bang bang bang bang

Out of everyone he ran closer to his fresh run speed - he did so because even though he was tired after the swim and bike he still had a high cadence - that, and as was reported back to me by Fusion Coaching during a training camp in Spain

“Chris is a talented guy”.

I enjoyed working with Chris - I appreciated that sometimes he hit the road not only with a view to the next race but just to clear his head, to release some of the pressures that developed between 9 and 5.

A strong bike runner, as the distances increased he moved up the leader board - half ironman or maybe longer suiting his style of racing perfectly.
