Winter Training in the Summer

Introducing my newest set of wheels - He doesn’t like going around corners, coming to a halt or taking me anywhere after dark (!) - but I do love him, his name is ‘blue’.

I arrived in South Africa on Wednesday morning after enduring 12 hours of a screaming 5yr who sat beside me. She didn’t like the movies, the food, the seat belts, the dark and apparently her parents. It was wild.

I struggled initially - 39 degrees out on the road and a sprint swim set wasn’t an ideal introduction - I even had to race a 14yr old girl over 50m at the end of the first swim practice and she went 28.4 . . . . to come in second

I am back staying with my good friend Double B - on the last count there were 14 race bikes in the house - and I think my Specialized Tarmac training bike was the poorest on show !
