Worcester Hill Climb TT
December 8th, 2009 by Gavin
Up at 5am - drive to the bottom of a 15.5km hill - lets see who can get to the top first ….. one of those wild weekends !?
Even though I think I blew after about 40mins then again at 50mins, 55mins and 70mins, I enjoyed the start to the day. I think. Sort of.
DoubleB and I travelled to Worcester, the home town of Dan and took part in the the event - a 15.5k time trial which has the same total elevation gain as Alp D’huez.
I was on ‘my’ Speicialized Stump Jumper and needed everyone of her gears to haul my out of season 79kgs up the mountain. Although there were times in which I was cursing the whole situation (like when I thought I must be near the top and one of my fellow athletes informed me that I had 5km still to go) it ended up being a very enjoyable morning.
I took a very short video above - one of those ‘maybe you had to be there ?’ videos. Sometimes the locals here look at ‘the Irish’ with a confused smile - DoubleB and I communicate using the English language but maybe you have to be Irish to understand it ?
